Hello everyone! For context, me and my classmates headed to Victoria, B.C. to display our personal projects at the Science Venture fair. Our trip was a week long and we did tons of different activities during then. Personally, my highlight was when we got to check out the fluid dynamics lab (except for the fact that we had to stand there the whole time). Another interesting (but not fun) thing that happened was when Roy elbowed my drink, spilling it all over me and when Josh used a party trick to fizz my drink up like crazy. From this trip, my biggest takeaway was that engineering was not a career that I wanted to pursue. Some of the presentations and experiences (such as the wastewater treatment facility tour) contributed significantly more to that choice.

Thanks, Matthew. I’m curious what specifically turned you off of engineering, specifically related to the wastewater plant. That is one very specific example of engineering. Many people come away from a trip like this discovering a preference for a particualr type of engineering. For you, that might be related to fluid dynamics based on this report.
