Last week, we were at the University of Victoria for a wrap up trip with the Fusion group we’ve spent a whole year with. I found activities like the pizza dinner with uVic students to be very helpful and interesting, especially with our personal projects. They provided lots of useful feedback and advice for us going forwards.

Additionally, I appreciated the team bonding activites such as the scavenger hunt, as it was a way to get to know the campus that we would be staying at for a week, but also create and share new experiences with friends.

We engaged in a number of STEM focused activities, such as a boat launch challenge, where we had to build a boat using limited resources, an optimization tutorial, and various tours including a fluid dynamics lab, waste water treatment plant, and the Victoria downtown bridge, which I found to all be quite interesting.

In conclusion, through various experiences and opportunities, I was able to learn from college students and see how different things worked behind the scenes.
