How much progress have you made?

Regarding progress, I changed my project as I realized what I was doing was quite ambitious for someone with so little experience and time. I decided to switch my project to a more achievable project: an app oriented at car enthusiasts acting as a platform for them to connect through sharing their favourite driving routes, organizing meets and drives, and recording their drives – kind of like a Strava but for driving. So far, with the given timeframe, I’ve created various documents regarding a software development roadmap, done market research and developed new ways to “add” or “fix” their shortcomings, a user flowchart and am in the process of making a working prototype on Figma.

What struggles or challenges have you had?

Regarding the new project, I haven’t encountered too many challenges apart from learning how to use Figma, as it’s my first time using it.

What have you learned so far?

I have learned how to use Figma, how to do market research, and formulate solutions to make up for their shortcomings. I’ve also learned about software development and the whole process of creating new software.

  • What are the next steps?  This might be the next steps to completing your prototype, or it might be that your current prototype is finished and you’re thinking about the steps to fulfilling the goals of the full project.

Next steps for my project would be actually programming and creating the app into an early beta phase where I could send it for testing within a small group and asking for feedback. Then I would be revising and improving the app again, and keep repeating the process until some form of public release is possible. Even then, app updates and listening to user feedback would be crucial.
