Last Monday, the fusion group set out to UVic for a year end trip. There we had a program that basically gave us a quick look into the more complex engineering world. Activities included fluid dynamics, optimization algorithms, making small boats, and visiting a water waste management site. We also stayed in the dorms at UVic and had a chance to eat local food and go to downtown for an afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For me, the highlight of the trip was being able to keep my electronics. Since I am a boarding student, my technology usually disppears by 10pm at night. Being able to keep my electronics was really nice so was having my own room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The biggest takeaway was perhaps the fact that during one of the conversations with a university student, they expressed interest in working with me on developing this app. I gave them my business card and we connected shortly after the trip to set up a meeting this Friday to discuss future opportunities and development of my project. Being able to work with a university student would be a new experience for me so I’m looking forward to it. <\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
