PPPitch – AstroAI

AstroAI is specialized to predict and articulate clearly the habitability of newly discovered exoplanets based on multiple criteria. These criteria include, but are not limited to temperature (whether the planet is in the Goldilocks zone), size & mass (whether it can even hold an atmosphere), and the components in the atmosphere (whether it has the essentials to sustain life). Mainstream chatbots like ChatGPT only provide information within a selected zone. For example, when referring to Gliese 12b, a planet discovered in May of 2024, it stays within the information parameters of that planet and fails to look for similarities with planets that we do know more about. AstroAI aims to break that barrier and form a more diversified and informed opinion.

This AI is projected to help many organizations like NASA and individuals like Barry. Refer to this presentation and the speaker notes for more information on Barry.

This seems like an interesting project, Felix, but I’m not sure that I understand the difference between what ChatGPT can currently do and what AstroAI proposes to do. Can you be clearer about what the exact differences might be? Maybe show an example of a ChatGPT response and then show an example of what you would hope an AstroAI response might be?
