Travelling To The University of Victoria

Last week our Fusion 10 Cohort travelled to the University of Victoria for our year end trip. There was a lot of activities and we were quite busy.

Most of the trip’s activities were based around STEM and our final projects. Our guides, Arden and Sam, talked about engineering optimizations and efficiency. We also learned a bit more about the structure of planes and boats with our model-building activities.

The highlight for me was the talks with the UVic students on Wednesday. I was given the opportunity to present my project in a quick way, which made me condense the most important parts into my pitch. I was also given a lot of valuable feedback including ways I could save myself some work.

One of the biggest takeaways of the trip was learning about engineering optimization and how people use it in the industry. There are many uses for this and I feel like I can try to apply it to my project.

This wraps up my short review of the trip. And before you leave, here’s an edit of Matthew Allawigan in his peed-pants glory (made by Josh Tsai):
